I have long been annoyed by folks who say that burping is rude. I have also been annoyed by people who are of the opinion that utlizing public bathrooms for #2 makes you a disgusting human being. If ya’ gotta go, ya’ gotta go sheesh! That’s the way Creator made your flippin’ digestive system to work!

Bodily functions are NATURAL, NORMAL and will always be so. Unfortunately, this freakin’ puritanical and politically correct culture we live in has slowly morphed into seeing normal bodily functions are RUDE in and of themselves.

CASE IN POINT:

Yahoo’s synopsis of article about cow belching:

Polite cows help climate

Getting cows to burp less can help reduce global warming, scientists say.

Grrrrrrrr!

How can a COW be polite? What the F does a random burp in the middle of a cow pasture how to do with politeness?

I know they are just trying to be cute, but it brings up a point of contention for me. Many folks think that burping in and of itself is rude. When did this shift start?1950?

It used to be that burping without saying excuse me was rude. I am not advocating going around belching in people’s faces, but people and animals belch. Deal with it!

*grumble*

Anyway, interesting bit in article:

He noted the average dairy cow belches out about 100 to 200 liters of methane each day, making diet changes a key potential factor in reducing this greenhouse gas.

“There is a common misperception about how methane gets into the atmosphere,” he said. “It is actually through belching rather than the other end.”

HAH! Belching isn’t RUDE, it’s bad for the environment.
