Starting yesterday when I called 6 or 7 hair salons trying to find someone I felt a vibe with/could deal with my multitextured hair, the name Akira has been popping up all over the place.

I made an appointmernt at “American Salon” (I know…I know..) with Akira(male).

Akira called me at 10:33 PM last night to set up a consult for Friday AM. My appointment is Saturday.

On TV this morning somone said the name Akira.

Just now I created a Pandora station based off of Imogen Heaps song: Hide and Seek. The first artist is named Akira.

I’m starting to get the message that this guy is the one, of the 5 folks I considered, to do my hair. It’s so hard because my hair is tight spiral curls from the crown up and bone straight from the crown down. My hair is thin so this creates a strange look on my head. I love my curls. I had the same haristylist back in MAss. for 13 years. I miss Jimmi. *sigh* But…maybe Akira’s my man. 🙂

I like male hairdressers.

AKIRA: Japanese unisex name meaning “bright; clear; dawn.”

      OH HELLS YAH!

Like Otomo’s earlier work, Domu (1983), AKIRA revolves around the basic idea of individuals with superhuman powers — in particular, psychokinetic abilities — but much of the story focuses on the characters involved, social issues and politics. It takes a wry look at youth alienation, government inefficiency and corruption, and an old-fashioned military displeased with the compromises of modern society.

Make sure you post some pictures.

  2. Good luck. 😀 I have similar hair issues. Luckily, though, I usually only ask for a trim, so anyone half-awake can do it. *lol*
