“We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.”

Oooo… I love this! A simple truth said in such a beautiful, poetic way. It makes me want to sit down and write today.

    : )

  2. Some bridges are meant to burn, others we must preserve at all cost. It’s only a a question of which one is which. You’ll make the right call. You have a great head on your shoulders and tremendous wisdom.

BTW, as my schedules become stable and somewhat sane again, I’d love to get back down to your area and do some photo explorations. Would you be interested in joining me and the kids?

I am getting very busy. Thank you, but I cannot.

I didn’t post this quote because I am woriied about burning bridges. I DON’T burn bridges. I maintain relationships for teh most part. If a relationship or situation ends..work…etc…I seek closure as opposed to tossing the match and walking away. I just thought this quote would provoke discussion…and it did.

I try not to burn bridges, but as the poster (sorry, forgot the name!) before me said, sometimes you cannot help but burn a few.

I also try not to burn bridges. As I said to jj..I attempt to get closure and reconcile things as ooposed to tossing a match on the situation and walking away. OTHERS have burned “this” bridge and they may not even know it. 😉 know what I mean?

  4. Make a stand

“I’ll cross that bridge when I find it, another day to make my stand…” The Reflex, Duran Duran

Of course, I like to say “We’ll burn that bridge when we get there”. 🙂
