Hello out there.

It’s been a long time since I have posted here and a lot has happened. It is interesting how life can pull the rug out from under you and offer new opportunities by the dozens. To be clich√©: one door closes, many open. blah blah

As of July 19th I am no longer working for IRWA. I was er…let go not by my own choosing. However, I was looking. I wasn’t looking because I hated the job itself, or because being able to travel to great cities and meet great people was so horrible. It was two things. The culture of the organization and the *reminding myself to use diplomacy* stress of having an unpredictable supervisor who defied logic.  How was that?*sigh*

Those of you that I have spoken to know the whole story. Remember that murder is always illegal and the universe will take care of malicious people in it’s own way. Thank goodness! I do trust that.

Am I angry? Yes. Does it consume my time and thought. no flippin’ way! That was part of the motive for all of the drama and I am above that.

I have been networking back in the youth development/community action arena. It has been going well and I know that I am moving in the right direction. I probably should have made a change months ago, but then some events in my life have happened because of working for IRWA. I am thankful for the opportunities I had to travel, make some lifelong friends, find a fantastic roommate and ‘sister’, learn countless skills and build my resume. I got to work with many volunteer leaders who I admire greatly.

Moving on from all of that, I will be doing a great deal of volunteer work to keep my brain from atrophy and my body moving. Although it is tempting to sit back and eat bon bons, I get bored with that very quickly.

I am volunteering for a youth organization that I have worked with in the past.

Women and Youth Serving Eachother

The ED is a great woman and she and I work well together. I’ll be doing a  consulting job with them next month and will volunteer any skills I have for them. They are a volunteer led mentor org. that does pregnancy prevention with middle school and high school girls. The mentors are college students at universities throughout the country. I hope to be able to help strengthen their community action component. That is where my expertise lies. :~} Well one aspect anyway.

posting this…to be continued
